McLaren Engineering Group Breaks into Crain’s Top 25 List of Largest Engineering Firms
Ranked 24th Overall, and Eighth in Number of New York Area Projects.

McLaren Engineering Group of West Nyack for the first time has broken into the top 25 list of New York area’s largest engineering firms as complied by Crain’s New York Business magazine.
The firm was ranked 24th as measured by the number of engineers in the area and ranked eighth in total number of New York area projects with 540.
Malcolm McLaren, president and CEO of McLaren Engineering Group, commented from the firm’s midtown Manhattan offices, “We’ve had our sights set on breaking into the Crain’s ranking and pleased to achieve this goal. It’s a testament to our rapid growth in the New York City market.”

McLaren Engineering Group has 36 professional engineers in the New York area with a multitude of services, including Structural, Site/Civil, Bridge, Highway & Rail, Entertainment, Marine, Waterborne Transportation, Survey and Forensics. The $24 million firm was founded by Mr. McLaren in 1977 and it opened a New York City office two years ago. Other offices are located in Baltimore, Md., and Orlando, Fla.
McLaren said the firm designs for many major projects in the New York area for developers and architects and many New York City departments, including parks, housing, transportation (ferries, MTA and LIRR). He cited the improving economy, increased entertainment jobs and Superstorm Sandy-related work as three reasons its New York area business grew in 2012.
