Nyack, Tappan Zee Sports Open First Full Spring Week Tuesday

The Tappan Zee softball team opens the 2013 season with a tough challenge, playing at home 4:30 p.m. today against Ketchum, one of the favorites in Class AA.

The contest should provide a good test for the Dutchies, who are expected to be among the top contenders in Class A after reaching the semifinals last season. 

The first full week of spring sports for Nyack and Tappan Zee High School teams begins today with the softball contest and Tappan Zee's home track and field meet against Nanuet at 4:30 p.m.

• Nanuet at Tappan Zee track and field, 4:30 p.m.

• Nyack boys lacrosse at Fox Lane, 4:30 p.m.
• Clarkstown South at Nyack boys tennis, 4 p.m.
• Ossining at Nyack softball, 4:15 p.m.
• Suffern at Tappan Zee boys tennis, 4 p.m.

Thursday

• Clarkstown North at Nyack baseball, 4 p.m.
• Clarkstown North at Nyack girls lacrosse, 4:15 p.m.
• Clarkstown North at Nyack softball, 4 p.m.
• North Rockland at Tappan Zee baseball, 4 p.m.
• North Rockland at Tappan Zee girls lacrosse, 4:15 p.m.
