Obituary: Fire Chief Robert G. Murdock, Jr.

Robert “Bobby” G. Murdock Jr. was born to Jean McLeod and Robert G. Murdock Sr. on December 10th, 1963 in Suffern, NY.

Robert is survived by his two daughters Britney Leigh and Jordan Marie, and their mother Mary Murdock, as well as his partner, Trish Curran and her daughter Alyssa. He is predeceased by his mother Jean and survived by his father Robert. He is also survived by his sisters Sheryl and Debbie and nieces Breanna and Erin.
He attended Ramapo Senior High School and graduated in 1982. Bobby was an Asst. General Foreman for the Town of Ramapo Highway Department, he has been a town employee since 1991.

Bobby started with the Hillcrest Fire Company No.1 in 1982 at the age of 18. He served two terms as Chief (6-1) in 1997-1999 and 2021 to present. He was an Honorary Member of the New Oxford Fire Department. He served as Commissioner for the Moleston Fire District for many years. He was also a part of Rockland County Chiefs Association where he served as president.
He is a Life Member of Hudson Valley Fireman’s Association, Life member of Hudson Valley Fireman’s Association, Member of Rockland Fire District Association, New Oxford Social Club and a Member of Royal Order of Nutbusters. He was a member of Haverstraw Elks Lodge No. 877 where he spent much time with friends and loved ones.
He enjoyed playing practical jokes on those he cared for and spending time with loved ones near and far. He had a passion for the outdoors fishing and hunting.
