Police Blotter: Domestic Disputes Lead to Arrests

Two charged in separate incidents.

Stony Point police say two separate domestic disputes have led to arrests.

- Michael K. McGuiness, 17, of 8 Wildwood Trail, Monroe, NY, was charged on Jan. 23 with second-degree harassment and criminal obstruction of breathing. Police said he was charged after an investigation found McGuiness attempted to choke a family member.

McGuiness was arraigned by Judge William F. Franks in Stony Point Town Court and later released pending a Feb. 21 hearing.

- Dennis R. Curry, 29, who has no known address, was charged with second-degree harassment and aggravated harassment on Jan. 25. Police said an investigation found Curry threatened a family member during a verbal dispute and also threatened a family member with physical harm during a telephone conversation.

Curry was arraigned in Haverstraw Town Court and ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City on $500 bail pending a Feb. 7 hearing.
