A New York City man allegedly involved with in South Nyack has been arrested, said Wednesday morning. Joel Pastor, a 25-year-old, was arrested June 19 and charged with burglary, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, all felonies. Pastor is accused of entering a resident's apartment last April and swiping a laptop while also traveling door-to-door as a salesman for an energy company. The laptop's owner was able to track down Pastor shortly after he left—he chased him and recovered his computer after a "brief struggle," said Robert Van Cura, chief of South Nyack-Grand View Police. Pastor was arraigned in by Judge Thomas Mascola and sent to Rockland County Correctional Center when unable to make $5,000 bail. Local police were assisted in their investigation by Suffern and , and the Rockland County Sheriff's BCI unit.
