Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Hudson Valley Monday

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The weather hits keep rolling in Monday.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm alert for Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester counties.
The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday.

There could be isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms throughout the region Monday afternoon into the evening.
The main threat with severe thunderstorms would be damaging wind gusts.

Isolated large hail is also possible in the mid-Hudson Valley.
Additionally, there is a flood advisory in effect until 3:45 p.m. for Westchester County.
Southern Westchester County is under a flash flood warning until 4 p.m.
The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in one hour, the weather service said. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches and, locally, 3 inches are possible in the warned area ghrough 4 p.m.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected.
