Sparkle the Star Brightens Hospital Stay for Pediatric Patients at Nyack Hospital

A bright yellow star lit up the units at Nyack Hospital as Sparkle, the mascot for Guideposts Comfort Kits, visited pediatric patients.

Accompanied by Anna Gentile from Guideposts, Sparkle presented the comfort kits which contain a stuffed Sparkle the Star toy, music CD, journal, and other items to entertain the children during their hospital stay.

“The appearance of a large bright star walking down the halls of the hospital brought smiles to the faces of children and adults alike," said Director of Pastoral Care at Nyack Hospital, Chaplain David Wentroble. "We are so grateful to Guideposts for supplying us year round with comfort kits to present to the children who stay at Nyack Hospital.”

Guideposts Comfort Kits have been distributed to more than 38,000 children in over 100 hospitals in the last three years. The items included in the comfort kits are selected to offer meaningful ways to fill the child’s time in the hospital.
