The United Way is now accepting applications for the Federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program.
From
The United Way of Rockland County (UWRC) is currently accepting applications for the Federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP). UWRC administers these federal funds to help expand the capacity of emergency food and shelter programs in high-need areas around Rockland County. In order for agencies to receive EFSP funding they must provide the delivery of emergency food and/or shelter services; be a non-profit or unit of government; have an accounting system; practice nondiscrimination; be eligible to receive Federal funds; and have a voluntary board.
Qualifying agencies are urged to apply. Last year through EFSP, $116,383 was awarded to the Rockland jurisdiction and directly supported fifteen organizations that provide emergency food or shelter services. This year EFSP has awarded Rockland County $117,554.
