Valley Cottage resident Michael Johnson was appointed Wednesday night as a full-time teacher in the Port Chester school district.
Johnson, whose mother also works in the district, was approved for a two-year probationary appointment by the Board of Education with his new role becoming effective on Friday.
Johnson has been working at a part-time position in the district. His full-time assignment will have him teaching at Port Chester's Edison School, John F. Kennedy School and Port Chester Middle School.

He holds bachelor of arts degree from Hofstra University and M.A.T. from Manhattanville College.
