“I’ve been around politics long enough to know a tough race when I see one, and flipping NY-17 from red to blue is as tough as they come. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Beth Davidson,” said Kaplowitz. “She’s got the smarts, the speaking skills, the grit, the governing experience, and the ability to raise the resources and build the coalition we need to win. Beth has what it takes to take down Mike Lawler and flip this seat once and for all.”

“This campaign is about bringing people together from all corners of NY-17 to take back this seat and deliver results for our district,” said Davidson. “I’m honored to have the support of so many neighbors who are working for affordable healthcare, reproductive freedom, strong public schools, a livable planet, and a government that actually works for the people. Together, we’re building a grassroots movement that’s fighting hard for our communities and families.”
Davidson, the only Democratic candidate in the NY-17 congressional race who has won previous election campaigns and holds public legislative office, is currently an elected Rockland County Legislator and former Nyack School Board Vice President. A thyroid cancer survivor, she has advocated for affordable healthcare and is working to lower the real costs families face. She and her husband, Jeff, moved to Nyack 20 years ago, where they are raising their two children, both of
whom attend public school.
New York’s 17th Congressional District includes all of Rockland and Putnam Counties, northern Westchester County, and part of Dutchess County.
