What to Expect July 4 in Nyack, Piermont

Nyack's Fourth of July Fireworks are set to go off at approximately 8 p.m. tonight.

The lower portion of Memorial Park will be closed, but the upper area and marina parking will be open. Nyack Middle School in South Nyack is also a popular spot to watch.

Pearl River will also hold its Independence Day fireworks show at the Central Ave. Field. There will be a bouncy obstacle course, food and live music before the display, which starts at approximately 9:30 p.m.

What's Open and Closed?

Orangetown Town Hall and all Rockland County offices will be closed today and reopen Friday.

Pearl River Public Library and the Nyack Library are both closed Thursday and open reopen Friday.

Clarkstown Town Hall is closed July 4th. Clarkstown Mini Trans does not operate on July 4th and there is no garbage or recycling pick up.  Collections will take place on the next regularly scheduled day. Town hall and mini trans will return to their regular schedules on Friday.

On July 4th, Germonds Pool will open from noon to 8:45 p.m., Congers Pool will open from noon until 6:45 p.m. and Lake Nanuet Pool will be open from 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.

The New York Stock Market and NASDAQ are closed on Independence Day as are U.S. Post Office branches. The Palisades Center will open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
