• Suffolk Postal Worker Arrested on Mail Theft Charges in Oakdale (messengerpapers.com) — Residents who use the Oakdale Post Office are being urged to check for missing mail after a Suffolk County postal clerk was charged with stealing gift cards, lottery tickets, and other items from outgoing envelopes there. Prosecutors say undercover investigators planted test mail, then later recovered allegedly stolen items and surveillance footage, and the District Attorney’s Office is asking anyone in the Oakdale postal area with concerns to contact its Public Corruption Squad.
