• Rockland Leaders Urge State to Enforce Nutrient Runoff Law as Local Lakes Remain Impaired (rocklandnews.com) — Orangetown’s town government has joined Rockland County and the other towns in pressing New York State to crack down on phosphorus runoff that’s polluting key local lakes and drinking water sources. Leaders want tougher enforcement of the state nutrient law plus better education and monitoring, and they’re urging residents to switch to phosphorus‑free lawn care and adopt more water‑friendly landscaping at home.
