Bethel Art Exhibit Features Residents’ Artwork

Residents, staff and visitors perused all the artwork, spoke with the artists and enjoyed refreshments throughout the reception.

From the Bethel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center: The lobby at Bethel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Croton-on-Hudson was filled with colorful and thoughtful art pieces during a recent reception and exhibition of the residents’ artwork. Under the instruction of Recreation Leader and artist, Gloria Kearsley, who leads an art class each week and inspires residents to develop their creative expression, some residents say they discovered talents they didn’t know they had!

The exhibit also included the artwork of residents Barbara Abel, Janet Willsea, Al Ferrara and Ruth Dove Knight, who recently received recognition as part of a statewide art competition sponsored by Leading Age New York, an organization which represents 600 not-for-profit continuing care providers. This year’s competition received 235 entries for consideration.

Residents, staff and visitors had a chance to peruse all the artwork, speak with the artists and enjoy refreshments throughout the reception.
