Bike Crash Claims Ossining Woman's Life
Ossining's Jane Shakman died after she got into a bicycling accident on Chappaqua Rd.

The Westchester County Medical Examiner's office has released the identity of the female bicyclist who died after she got into an accident involving a car on Sunday. The ME's office says the woman was Ossining resident Jane Shakman.
The accident happened on Chappaqua Road in Briarcliff Manor around 12:40 p.m. on July 8. Investigators describe the accident as a "cyclist versus vehicle" incident.
After the Sunday afternoon accident occurred, Shakman was taken to the hospital, but passed away later that night.

Lt. Donald Gorey of the Briarcliff Manor Police Department says he is in talks with the Westchester County District Attorney's Office about the incident. It is unclear whether charges are being filed against the driver of the vehicle that struck the woman.
Two weeks ago, a male cyclist was killed  from Briarcliff Manor to Sleepy Hollow.
