MTA Bus Crashes Into Storefront, Parked Cars In Yonkers
The bus driver reported minor injuries, and was taken to the hospital for evaluation, according to the Yonkers Police Department.

YONKERS, NY — Remarkably, there were no serious injuries reported after an MTA bus crashed into a Yonkers store.
At around 1:15 p.m. on Friday afternoon, the Yonkers Police Department and the Yonkers Fire Department responded to the corner of Warburton Avenue and Ashburton Avenue, after receiving a report of a crash involving a bus.

The MTA bus struck a storefront at the scene. Two other vehicles, which were parked and unoccupied, were also struck.

Only the driver was on the bus. She had minor injuries, and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
There were no other injuries reported, and no others involved in the crash, according to police.

The Yonkers Fire Department and the Yonkers Department of Housing and Buildings are on scene assessing the structural integrity of the building. Units will remain on scene until the bus is removed and further assessments can be made, officials said.
Warburton Avenue, between Ashburton Avenue and Wells Avenue, remains closed to traffic until further notice, according to YPD.
