Croton Firefighters Complete Extrication Training on Hot First Day of Summer

Five Croton firefighters spent the summer solstice in full gear working heavy equipment to complete an important part of their life-saving training.

From Croton-on-Hudson Fire Chief John Munson, as posted on their website:

On this gorgeous, first Saturday of Summer, five of Croton's bravest completed the New York State Accident Victim Extrication Training Course.

The sixteen hour program features a combination of classroom discussion and practical hands-on evolution's reviewing how to stabilize, pry and cut open vehicles involved in serious collisions. The training was held at two different locations - the Westchester County Fire Training Center in Valhalla and their Satellite location at the Katonah Fire Department over a couple of evenings this week, culminating today.

Completing this course were the following Croton-on-Hudson FD volunteers;

Ivan Crespo (E119)
Josh Karpoff (R18)
Tom Mosler (E118)
Ashley Roosa (E119)
Matt Stewart (E119)
