Croton-Harmon’s Kindergartners Have a ‘Bus’-ling First Day

School bus ride was among firsts for many incoming kindergarteners.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY - Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School’s youngest incoming students had an exciting day of introductions, new friendships and other firsts as they walked into their classrooms for the first time on September 1.

The day began with students, along with their parents, meeting their classroom teachers and getting to know the room where they will spend time engaging in learning through June.

Parents then received an introductory presentation in the gymnasium as the students continued to explore their new building. The shortened day ended with a first-time bus ride for the kindergarten students around the village, which allowed them to learn how to safely board, exit and ride on school buses.
