Croton households who enroll in the program will be able to drop off bagged food scraps that will be collected weekly and transported to a nearby commercial composting facility. The program will provide the Village and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation with valuable information on how the process of food scrap co-collection can reduce carbon emissions, cut back on food waste, and save taxpayer money on municipal waste disposal costs.

Registration is required to participate. If your household would like to participate, please review the Food Scrap Recycling Program Rules and Procedures here: https://www.crotononhudson-ny.gov/sustainability-committee/news/croton%E2%80%99s-food-scrap-recycling-program
