Croton Hudson River Day Event

The mission of the event is to promote all aspects of the Hudson River — history, ecology, recreational resources and build interest and leadership in its environmental protection.

The following is from the Sept. Croton newsletter.

The Croton Yacht Club is holding its 4th annual Hudson River Day event on Sat., Sept. 8th from 11 to 4. The mission of the event is to promote all aspects of the Hudson River - history, ecology, recreational resources and build interest and leadership in its environmental protection.

The  goal of the event is, through the transfer of knowledge to young and old, to ensure that the future of the Hudson River is safeguarded. Presentations and hands-on activities for adults and children will include a seining exhibition (capture, display and release of marine life), viewing tanks, toy sailboat making, fossil making, fish printing, sailboat rides, and local artists displays and sales.  Food  and beverages will be available including their own well known fish chowder.  Everyone is invited to join in this fun-filled, family-focused day.
