Croton's Jack Connolly Dies at 79

Jack Connolly was an inspiration to those who knew the Croton-Peekskill man.

Friends and family are mourning the death of John "Jack" J. Connolly of Peekskill. The former Croton-on-Hudson resident died at his home on Wednesday.

Connolly was born back in 1933 to his parents James and Kathleen Connolly in New York City. He was a Korean war veteran, serving from 1950-1953. Connolly received the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Campaign Stars, as well as the United Nations Service Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.

He is survived by his daughters and son Laurie Connolly, Jackie Broadway, Cathy Connolly and Sean Connolly, as well as his grandchildren Jack Connolly, Addison Caputo, Ben Caputo, Kate Reagan Connolly, and his sister Kathleen Veneziano.

Connolly is also survived by his former wife Mary Connolly. 

His funeral was held on October 12 at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home. And his burial service was held at Holy Name of Mary Church.
