Croton-on-Hudson's Tree Lighting
The Village of Croton-on-Hudson kicked the holiday season into gear this weekend.

Croton-on-Hudson kicked off the holiday season this weekend. On Saturday residents started their evening by decorating the potted evergreens in the downtown area. People then followed jolly Saint Nick along Riverside to the annual tree lighting next to Groovy on Grand.
The illuminated Christmas tree didn't disappoint, as those who attended the lighting can attest to. After the tree lighting everyone ended up at Vassallo Park. People caroled, decorated trees, feasted on cookies, while keeping warm with the help of hot chocolate.
"We had a great turn out," said Croton Business Council member Suzanne Welch. "The Croton Business Council started this last year—and we went bigger this year and generated much interest in the community."
The Croton Business Council, Prudential Rivertowns Realty, Grouchy Gabe's and numerous other local merchants in the village sponsored the tree lighting and decorating festivities.
