Croton & Ossining Residents Compete in Triathalon

Results from the third-annual Sleepy Hollow Sprint Triathlon.

Approximately 250 participants and 175 volunteers gathered on the banks of the Hudson River early Sunday morning for the third annual Sleepy Hollow Sprint Triathlon. Nathan Weber from Ossining finished in 16th place with a time of 1:19:23 among men ages 35-39. In the same age bracket Croton resident Jeremy Sonnenburg finished in 20th place with a time of 1:24:41.

In the 50-54-year-old men's category Croton's Tom Seery finished in 14th place with a time of 1:20:37. In the women's group age 50-54 Ossining's Martha Klein finished in second place with a time of 1:21:52.

The event incorporated a half-mile swim, a 10-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run all around Sleepy Hollow and Kingsland Point Park.

Organized as a charity event by Sleepy Hollow Physical Therapy, the Sprint Triathalon raised over $75,000 to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
