A man found passed out in front of CVS on Maple Street before noon on August 6 was sent on his way, only to get arrested a few days later for allegedly entering a Croton home.
At 9:35 p.m. that same night, a Wayne Street resident called police to report a prowler in their home. A man, who appeared to be elderly and intoxicated, had entered their apartment threshold, "scaring family members," Sgt. John Nikitopoulos said.
Police then got a report that the man by that description may be behind the church on Benedict Boulevard, but they were unable to find him there. They thought he matched the description as the vagrant from the CVS incident, Nikitopoulos said.
On September 9, police found the man and charged him with criminal trespass in the second degree for entering that house. He was located on Albany Post Road and positively identified by the apartment dweller. The man is 76-years-old with no address.
He was arraigned in Town of Cortlandt court and taken to Westchester County Jail.
