Croton Police Respond to Call of Angry Mob with Bats

Croton Police got a call just after noon on June 9 that there was a fight in progress near the ball field at the entrance to Croton Point Park. The caller described a "riot" of about 20 people, wielding bats, reported Sgt. John Nikitopoulos.

Local police called in Westchester County Police for back-up and went to the scene where they observed no bats being used, and no violations.

Everyone was sent on their way, Nikitopoulos said.
