Croton Street Paving Season Almost Over

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson is working to finish their fall paving project.

Many Croton-on-Hudson residents have been wondering when the village's paving project will conclude for the season. Right now, there is only one street left to repave, and that's Cleveland Drive. Right now, the project is mostly finished. Officials say they have been delayed because they are awaiting optimal weather conditions, so they can wrap up the repaving job.

"We're just waiting for the weather to cooperate so we can do the final coating," said Croton-on-Hudson Department of Public Works Superintendent Marco Gennarelli. "We've already crack-filled it and we oil and chipped it. The next step would be the final micro-surfacing, which is the top layer."

Gennarelli says that they had planned to finish up the Cleveland Drive project last week, but it rained.

"Now the project has been tentatively rescheduled to resume Saturday, but the weather doesn't look that good right now," said Gennarelli.

Typically, the Croton-on-Hudson Department of Public works begins their paving projects in late summer or early fall. Patch asked Gennarelli if there were any project on tap for 2013.

"At this point what we'll do is, in the spring, we'll evaluate the roads after winter and see what needs to be done," said Gennarelli.
