Croton's Kent Patterson Exhibits His Local Oils at Grouchy Gabe's

Kent Patterson, of Croton, is showing his contemporary and historic Hudson Valley scenes close to home with an exhibit at Grouchy Gabe's Cafe & Grill at 8 Old Post Road South through mid-August.

Patterson, a lifetime Hudson Valley resident inspired by the beauty of the region, has been depicting it in oil paintings diligently since 2004 when he landed in Croton.

He paints scenes from up and down the river from the Tappan Zee Bridge and Croton’s train station to further north to West Point and beyond to the Adirondacks.

"I think New York is the best state to paint in because there's just so much,” he said.

Meet the artist at the opening reception next Friday July 19th between 6 and 8 p.m. The work now can also be viewed during Gabe's breakfast/lunch business hours until August 15.
