Day Two of Shopping Center Power Outage
Multiple businesses are without electricity this afternoon.
Friday marks day two of multiple shops not having electricity at the Croton shopping center, which is home to Zeytinia. Workers at the stores tell Patch that the power has been out since 4 p.m. yesterday.
Zeytinia grocery store has been letting customers shop for non-perishable items, but other stores such as CVS Pharmacy remain closed. "So far the post office is open, the liquor store is open, The Black Cow is closed, the bank is closed too. They got in touch with Con Edison, so we're waiting for them to come," said a worker at CVS Pharmacy.
Patch called Con Edison to see if they were aware of the problem—and if they had an estimated time as to when the power would be restored. "It's not us. Whatever is going on up there is a problem within the building," said ConEd spokesman Bob McGee.

An employee at Van Wyck Liquors said that she heard a tree branch, that had fallen on a transformer, was to blame for the outage.
