
National Prescription Take-Back Day is this Saturday, Oct. 26.
In Ossining,
people can visit the Birdsall-Fagan Police/Court Facility at 86-88 Spring Street between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to turn in their unwanted meds. Here, citizens can safely dispose of unwanted prescription medications, patches, ointments, drug samples, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and pet medications. Get more information from Ossining Communities That Care here.Alice Joselow, OCTC Coordinator, says that the Ossining Village Police are “key leaders in this [drug collection] initiative and they are also the leaders on this program across Westchester County.” She adds that historically they have taken in over $65,000 worth of drugs every time they do a Take Back day.
“Please help us continue to keep our community safe from unwanted drugs by supporting this take back effort on Saturday,” Joselow said.

In Croton,
Drug Take Back Day in Croton will also be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Several officers will be manning a table at Croton Commons shopping area on 175 South Riverside Avenue and will accept any drugs you want to get rid of, no questions asked. They do this in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
If you miss this event, the Village of Croton-on-Hudson Police Department at the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Buidling, 1 Van Wyck Street, does have a 24-hour way to drop of old, expired and unused meds in their lobby in what is actually an old mailbox that's been painted.

In Tarrytown,
