Foxes Menace Ossining Neighborhood

A trapper has been unable to capture foxes in the area of Ossining's Osage St.

A contractor is continuing to try to trap a number of foxes in the Ossining area. The family of foxes comes out on a daily basis around 8:30 p.m., according to a new report. Ossining police initially sent out a warning about the gray foxes on June 28, but the animals continue to evade trappers in the area of Osage St.

Ossining resident Kim Schuster tells WCBS Radio that she was injured while running away from one of the foxes. Schuster says she was walking her dog when a fox started growling and hissing at her. While running away, she tripped in her driveway and fell on her face. She fractured her jaw and three teeth during the fall. She also had to get stitches.

The reached out to a trapper to deal with the issue, according to a new report. That individual has placed a number of traps around a vacant house. That's the area where the foxes have apparently made a home for themselves.
