Cleanup Efforts in Croton-on-Hudson

Hurricane Sandy has ravaged the Village of Croton-on-Hudson. Officials, crews, neighbors and first responders are working to clean up the damage, restore roadways and power to homes.

This just in from the Village of Croton-on-Hudson:

The majority of the Village is still without power and many roads are closed from downed trees.  Con Ed has dispatched a crew to the Village.  DPW is working on clearing debris from the roads.  Trees with downed wires cannot be  cleared until Con Ed has de-energized the wires.  Please stay away from any downed wires - they are dangerous.  Please also remember that all village parks are closed until further notice.  Our waterfronts on both the Hudson River and Croton River remain closed as well due to storm damage.  The  community room in the Municipal Building is open and will remain open for residents who wish to power their cell phones and lap tops.  We will be making further updates as conditions change.  Thank you for your cooperation.
