Illegal Immigrant Sues Ossining Over Rape Arrest
The Ecuador native is suing the village in connection with an arrest that occurred after he was accused of raping a four-year-old girl.

An illegal immigrant is suing the in connection with his rape arrest, according to lohud.com. Ecuador native Geovanni Zhagui has filed the lawsuit in federal court. Five unnamed police officers and the village are the defendants in the case.
Zhagui, a former Ossining resident, had been accused of raping a four-year-old girl back in 2008. His attorney claims that while he was being interrogated Village of Ossining Police assaulted him.
The Ecuadorian native was indicted in 2008, but DNA evidence did not connect him to the alleged crime, so the charged were dropped. Zhagui is still in the country as the lawsuit against the Village of Ossining unfolds. The case continues on October 18.
