Music Festivals Of Note Near Ossining
The summer offers music festivals all over the Hudson Valley.

OSSINING-CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY—Summer is almost here and there’s music in the air. The list of upcoming music festivals just keeps growing.
Here are a few festivals to look forward to. If we missed your favorite let us know in the comments below:
Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, Dobbs Ferry and Ossining: Jazz Forum Arts Summer 2017

As part of the 2017 season of free summer concerts 34 free concerts will be held at various sites along the Hudson River—Waterfront Park in Dobbs Ferry, Lyndhurst Mansion and Pierson Park in Tarrytown, Horan’s Landing in Sleepy Hollow, and Henry Gourdine Park in Ossining.
The season begins with the Dobbs Ferry Summer Music Series on June 21 and runs through August 25 at Pierson Park in Tarrytown. Performers include emerging and established artists, and groups ranging from quartets to orchestras. You can find more information and profiles of the artists here.

Tappan: Fourth annual Rockland-Bergen Music Festival
The fourth annual Rockland-Bergen Music Festival will take place on June 24 and 25 at the German Masonic Fairgrounds in Tappan.
This year’s 33 performers include Jake Clemons of the E Street Band, Steve Forbert, John Cafferty & Beaver Brown, Hollis Brown, Jo D’Urso, Jeffrey Gaines and Joe Grushecky.
Early bird tickets are now on sale at the price of $45 or $51 for a two-day pass. As in years past, anyone born in the calendar year of 1967 can enter the festival for FREE in celebration of that person’s 50th birthday.
Pleasantville: 2017 Pleasantville Music Festival
The music festival will take place on July 8 at Pleasantville's Parkway Field. Performers include 90's icon, Blues Traveler, as well as Living Colour, Suzanne Vega and her band, Queens-based rockers Hollis Brown and Hastings on Hudson's rising star, Caleb Flood & the Culture. Other acts include the funk band Ripe, the grunge bad Arc & Stones, as well as Alpaca Gnomes, and Stellar Young

Croton-on-Hudson: Clearwater Festival
The 2017 Clearwater Festival takes place on June 17 and 18 at Croton Pont Park, Croton-on-Hudson. The gates open at 9 a.m.
Performers include Cry Cry Cry, Arlo Guthrie, Los Lobos, Nick Lowe, Richard Thompson, Josh Ritter, Joan Osborne, Alejandro Escovedo, Tom Paxton and the Don Juans, Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams, Holly Near, Tom Chapin and Josh White. Revenue raised by the festival goes to support Clearwater’s educational programs, its environmental and social justice work as well as keeping the sloop Clearwater afloat.

Hunter Mountain: Mountain Jam Music Festival
For more than 13 years Hunter Mountain has been the backdrop for the Mountain Jam, a three-day multi stage event featuring approximately 40 bands. This year’s performers include Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the Steve Miller Band, The String Cheese Incident along with Peter Frampton, The Head and the Heart, Gary Clark Jr., Michael Franti and Spearhead and St. Paul and the Broken Bones.

Pine Plains: 2017 Huichica East Festival
The second year of the festival takes place on Aug. 25 and 26 at Chaseholm Farms in Pine Plains. The farm-to-table festival offers two days of live music, plus locally sourced and sold food concessions.
Festival performers include Real Estate, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Cass McCombs, Marissa Nadler, Dough Tuttle and The Mattson 2.
Two-day music passes for the festival can be purchased at huichica.com for $90. Two day car camping passes are also available for $30 and include camping for up to 8 people. Children are encouraged to attend and admission is free for those under the age of 16 when accompanied by an adult.
