One of Ossining's Bravest Has Died

25-year Ossining Fire Department veteran Bobby Korr has passed away.

Robert E. Korr, a lifelong resident of Ossining, has died. He was 62. Mr. Korr was a 25-year member of the Ossining Fire Dept. Independent Hose Co. #6., serving as captain in 1995 and served numerous terms as chief driver. He was also an associate member of Holla Hose Co. #5. and member of Trinity Episcopal Church.He was a racing car enthusiast and extremely mechanically inclined.

Bob worked as a building maintenance technician at Scarborough Manor Apartments in Ossining.

He was born May 18, 1950 in Ossining to John and Ivy Crowne Korr. Bob was educated in Ossining and graduated from Ossining High School in 1968.

Bobby is survived by his twin brother Charles of Peekskill, two younger brothers Richard of Croton and Thomas of Cortlandt Manor and three nieces. His brother John “Jack” died in 1987.

Calling hours are Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Ossining Funeral Home, 45 South Highland Avenue, Ossining. Funeral Service is Tuesday 11 am at Trinity Episcopal Church, Ossining. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Firemen’s Home, 125 Harry Howard Ave., Hudson, NY 12534.
