A summary of recent police activity and arrests in the village of Ossining.

Fight, Drug Bust

Two men - one from Ossining and the other from the Bronx - were charged with criminal possession of controlled substances in the seventh after police responded to a call for a fight.

The two 20-year-olds were found by Village of Ossining police to have been fighting on Easter Avenue on Oct. 17 around 12 a.m. In the residence of the Ossining man, police noticed on the table a marijuana cigarette, cocaine in an aluminum packet, and a pipe used to smoke marijuana, Lt. William Sullivan said.

The two suffered minor scratches and injuries from the fight but didn't go to the hospital, Sullivan said. Both were booked and released with a court date.

Ossining Woman on Warrant

A 41-year-old Gates Avenue woman was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be wanted on failure to appear in court for previous charges.

Greenburgh Police stopped the woman while driving the afternoon of Oct. 17 and found that she had an active bench warrant out of Ossining. She hadn't faced various vehicle violations and a misdemeanor charge of fleeing an officer.

Ossining police picked her up from Greenburgh headquarters and took her into custody. She was taken to Westchester County Jail on $1,000 bail.

DWI Accident

Police charged a 36-year-old South Highland Avenue man with driving while intoxicated after he hit another car on his own street.

Police responded to the accident on Oct. 19 around 11:30 p.m. The driver had hit another car causing slight damage, Lt. Sullivan said.

The man reportedly tested positively for alcohol with a blood alcohol count of .11, exceeding the legal limit of .08.

The other driver complained of neck and back pain and was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital.

The defendant was taken to Westchester County Jail with a pending court date.
