OSSINING, NY — Ossining school officials have created a special website on how schools will reopen in September with pandemic protocols.
"The purpose of this website is to capture the options we have explored thus far and highlight new developments and their impact on our reopening plans. I encourage you to check this site often for updates as we receive additional guidance and protocols from state, local and national agencies, leaders and experts," Superintendent Ray Sanchez said on the site. "Please be assured that we are placing the health and safety of our students, staff and families at the forefront of every decision we make. The Ossining School District is committed to providing the best possible learning experience for our children in the upcoming school year and beyond."

The district has considered three ways to hold school for 2020-21:
Scenario 1
Reopen schools with 100 percent in-person learning

- In-person learning in this scenario would occur without physical distancing or other public health mitigation strategies.
Scenario 2
Reopen schools with a combination of in-person and distance learning
- In-person learning would occur with physical distancing and other public health mitigation strategies.
Scenario 3
Extend distance learning without in-person learning
- Distance learning would be extended with a revised approach, building on the strengths of the current distance learning approach and making good use of opportunities for improvement.
