Ossining Educator to Conduct All-County Band

The Ossining Union Free School District's Director of Cultural Arts Bradley Morrison has been named as the conductor of the All-County Band.

The man behind the Westchester County School Music Association's (WCSMA) Elementary All-County Band will be Ossining's Bradley Morrison. He was recently picked by WCSMA to lead the band for the 2011-2012 school year.

Morrison's extensive resume is certainly one of the reasons why he was picked. He is currently the director and conductor for the Youth Wind Ensemble of Westchester. Previously he was the band director at the Anne M. Dorner Middle School. He was also the founder of the Rivertowns Middle School Honor Band and Orchestra Festival. “I can’t wait to work with some of the county’s best young musicians, which I am sure will include some of our very own Ossining students,” said Morrison.

On a yearly basis, WCSMA picks new band, chorus and orchestra conductors. The organization is part of the New York State School Music Association and The National Association for Music Education. 55 area school districts are part of WCSMA. The organization also represents 450 music educators from those districts. 1,200 students from Westchester take part in WCSMA's festivals every year.
