Ossining Police Charge Croton Man with Consuming Near Teen

A Croton man, aged 29, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child by Ossining Police.

Ossining Lt. William Sullivan said the man was found to be allegedly drinking alcohol and smoking weed as he sat in a bus shelter on Broadway next to a boy on August 5 at 3:55 p.m.

Sullivan said they found no evidence that the 14-year-old boy he was with had been given alcohol or marijuana himself.

Police brought the boy into headquarters where he was picked up by a parent.

The man was charged with:

  • Endangering the welfare of a child,
  • criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth,
  • and public consumption of alcohol, a violation.

Note: An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
