Ossining Police Incident Reports

The following are Town of Ossining police incidents reported by Westchester County Police Spokesman Kieran O'Leary.

  • Sunday, June 10 – 1:26 p.m. – A resident of Hawkes Avenue reported that a dog was loose in the area but the animal could not be located by an officer who responded to the scene.
  • 8:12 p.m. – A homeowner on Ganung Drive detected a burning odor in his home and called 911 to report a possible fire. Westchester County Police and the Ossining Fire Department responded. Firefighters found a short in an electrical box and corrected the condition. The homeowner was advised to contact an electrician.
  • Wednesday, June 6 – 6:29 a.m. – Westchester County Police received a call reporting a suspicious pickup truck parked in the lot of a commercial business on North State Road that had yet to open for the day. An officer responded but the vehicle was gone upon his arrival. The business’ premises were checked and nothing was found amiss.
  • 7:26 p.m. – A resident of Morningside Drive called Westchester County Police to report that there was a “bonfire” on a neighboring property that was burning very close to the tree line and he was concerned the flames might spread.  County police responded to an address on North State Road and found a resident burning wood in a metal wheelbarrow. The resident was advised to extinguish the fire for safety reasons and she complied.
