Velasquez was born in Honduras and migrated to New York City at the age of 14 with his grandmother. He said his bilingual ability allows him to better connect with Con Edison customers.

“Spanish-speaking customers are put at ease, and I feel a better sense of trust when I can speak to them in their native language,” he said.

In his spare time, Velasquez enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and four grandchildren. He frequently participates in fundraising events for St. Theresa and Our Lady of the Wayside churches in Briarcliff Manor.
