The Croton Animal Hospital called village police to report they had a severely injured black crow at their facility which they would probably have to euthanize.
The crow had been brought in by a resident who found it on Harrison Street on July 29 and believed it had been shot.
The hospital recovered a pellet from it.
Sgt. John Nikitopoulos said he thought this was likely from a kid with a pellet gun, not a hunter.
