Police: Heavy Telephone Wire Misses Man, Damages Car

A telephone wire police describe as "very large" fell from its pole on Scenic Drive West and Albany Post Road causing extensive damage to a car. 

The driver had pulled over on the side of the road and gotten out of his car the morning of Sept. 20 to witness the wire fall and land right on his car, "causing extensive damage," Croton-on-Hudson police said. The telephone wire was of a very heavy gauge.

"They're lucky they didn't get hit," police said.
