Police Investigate Felony Theft from Croton Firehouse

Croton-on-Hudson Chief John Munson reported to police on Nov. 7 that a Stihl cut-off saw, valued at $1,400, had been stolen from Washington Engine firehouse.

He believed it was stolen sometime between Sept. 18 and 23.

It took a while to report, said Det. Paul Camillieri, because the chief believed a member had borrowed it. He asked whomever had it to bring it back. But upon his own internal investigation, Munson now believed it to have been stolen.

Police are investigating.
