Police: Guard Booth Targeted Nightly with Beer Cans, Rocks, Eggs

On the morning of August 15, a Half Moon Bay security supervisor reported suspicious incidents targeting the guard house for the last three nights.

Between the hours of 1 and 2 a.m. on August 13, an unknown person(s) threw a full can of beer at the manned guard house; on August 14 in the same timeframe, they threw rocks; on August 15, they threw eggs. Police told the supervisor to call back if and when it happened again.

Half Moon Bay security called back on August 19 at 12:39 a.m. to say someone had just been throwing small rocks and beer cans at the shack from behind. Parties were gone upon police arrival.

However, at 12:54 a.m. police got a call again for the same and this time found two youths making graffiti nearby. They charged two 17-year-olds from Croton, one male and one female, with one count each of criminal mischief/graffiti.
Both were released to their parents with a court date.

"There's been a lot of graffiti lately," said Sgt. John Nikitopoulos, "and we're working on connecting it."
