For parents who really don’t want to pay full price for kids’ items they will need to unload again within months, Ossining offers up this great solution.

Consignment Kids is a cozy shop carrying new and gently used children's clothing ranging in size from zero to 12, along with necessities like strollers, baby carriers, bedding, shoes, bouncers, blankets, towels, books, toys and games.

Shoppers find great bargains and best yet: consignors receive 40 percent of final sales or immediate cash for like-new books and toys in original packaging. There’s also an area for kids to play while parents shop.

Westchester Magazine writes about owner Rose Fiorello, a mother of two, who opened this shop after losing her corporate accounting job.

"It’s a win-win situation both for the person who is buying something and the person who no longer needs it," Fiorello told Westchester Magazine. "Plus, it’s good for the environment."
