
State Police out of the Hawthorne barracks arrested a Sing Sing corrections officer this week on a charge of distributing “contraband” to inmates.
Police on Oct. 13 around 12:45 p.m. took into custody the 40-year-old employee of the prison, a Bronx resident, charging him with:
Promoting prison contraband in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

The defendant was arrested after an investigation during which police recovered what the Hudson Valley Reporter reports was an “unknown number of pills” which he had allegedly been delivering to inmates over an unknown period of time.
State Police said the contraband items are being analyzed in the State Police Laboratory and the man is scheduled to appear in Village of Ossining court.
