Spare Some Change for a Broken Donkey?

Police report there's no video footage in that area and no witnesses have come forward to help identify the suspect(s) who made away with two manger animals.

There’s been no leads on who made away with the donkey and sheep from the Ossining Christmas Community Crib one night at the end of December.

Police Lt. William Sullivan offered this dismal update on any suspects: “unfortunately, no.” He said there’s no video footage in that area and no witnesses have come forward.

The manger scene sits at a busy intersection at Croton Avenue and Todd Place and what seems to have been more than one culprit must have struggled to remove the items, which were fixed to the crib base. The act damaged both pieces, one severely.

Bonnie Marconi reported that the donkey would need new legs, if not replacement. She estimated its value at $5,000. Both animals were found just a few blocks away a few days after the incident.
