Tasty Port Wine for the Holidays

Did you know Ossining has a shop specializing in Port—from Portugal—which can be just the rich, comforting red you crave for the cold months.

Rute Goncalves, of Tasty Port Wine, recently blogged on Patch on the phenomenon of “Chateaux Boredom.”

While not great for during dinner, port is a great after. She writes:

Port Wine is usually a phenomenal choice around this special time of year, it is the perfect element for after dinner. With it’s heavy sweet body and high content of alcohol, Port wine is many people’s favorite choice to aid one’s digestion after the usual large intake of food on holidays, that is why it is also called a “digestif”.

The shop celebrated its first anniversary in October when they were proud to be written up in the Portuguese-American newspaper “Luso-Americano.”
