Thief Speeds Off in Croton Auto Park Jeep
A thief sped away in Croton Auto Park's most expensive $65,000 luxury SUV.

Investigators are trying to figure out who stole a vehicle from Croton Auto Park. The dealership's owner says workers saw someone take off with the black 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT down South Riverside Avenue. The driver then took off down Route 9 going north, whipping through traffic during a rainstorm while making their getaway.
"They don't know who was in it. The keys were left in it and there was a dealer plate on it," said Croton-on-Hudson Detective Sergeant John Nikitopoulos.
Croton Auto Park Owner Lou Giordano says their video surveillance system caught the thief on camera as he walked down Municipal Place and into the dealership's parking lot.

"He walked in back of the building… had his hoodie over his head—on his cell phone. He jumped into my Jeep and drove out of here," said Giordano.
Giordano says that there were three, what you would call, questionable guys in the dealership three weeks ago. The three men test drove the same vehicle that was stolen on October 2.

"It's upsetting, I've never had a vehicle stolen here before," said Giordano.
Giordano says that his dealership gave Croton Police copies of the mens' IDs from their test drive three weeks ago. He says when police ran one of their IDs, one of the men did have a rap sheet.
The theft continues to be under investigation by the Croton-on-Hudson Police Department.
