Torview Swim and Tennis Club Kicks Off Summer Season

This story was written by Tricia Robbins and posted by Lisa Buchman.

Nestled on 13 acres of beautiful and serene landscape, Torview Swim and Tennis Club has been creating great summer memories for local residents for 57 years. Known as the hidden jewel of Ossining, Torview launched the 2013 summer season for member families and their friends with free weekend admission for the month of June. Members and their guests cooled off on the hot and humid early days of summer and enjoyed all the club amenities.

Recognized as a great family-friendly summer destination for over 150 local families, Torview boasts a 25-meter pool, diving section, separate baby pool, basketball court, Har-Tru tennis courts, paddle courts, and snack bar operated by Ossining’s Wobble Cafe. Additional amenities include swim and tennis lessons, swim and dive team, and family events for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. The club also hosts after hours events for kids, moms, and dads as well as bingo night – a longstanding fundraiser for the swim and dive team.

Torview is rich in history dating back to 1956, a time when World War II servicemen and their families came to Ossining to raise their families. The men thought the area was an ideal place for their children but needed a swimming pool. They rallied together as a community and raised funds to build the pool on a small parcel of land in the town of Ossining. Through the years the club was able to grow its membership and become a place for local families to come and enjoy their summers.

This season, the club is excited to announce the first annual Torview-Palooza concert, an evening hosted by Mike Risko’s Music School and the Wobble Café, showcasing the musical talents of Torview members and Mike Risko’s Music School students.
